Therapeutic radiofrequency in San Juan de Alicante
Therapeutic radiofrequency (diathermy) to improve circulation and support tissue regeneration.
What it is and how we use it
Radiofrequency, also called diathermy or TECAR therapy, applies a high-frequency current that generates energy inside the tissue. This improves circulation and the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the injured area.
We use it to support regeneration of muscles, tendons and ligaments, and to prepare the tissue before exercise and manual therapy. Depending on the stage of the injury, we choose a gentler or more intense effect.
It is a non-invasive and comfortable technique. We check contraindications first, such as a pacemaker, pregnancy or metal implants in the area.
Used for
- Muscle injuries and tightness
- Tendinopathies
- Sprains and ligament injuries
- Lower back and neck pain
- Overload in athletes
Frequently asked questions
What does radiofrequency feel like?
A deep, pleasant warmth while we work on the area with our hands or the applicator.
Is it the same as TECAR or diathermy?
They are different names for therapeutic radiofrequency techniques. What matters is how and when it is used within the protocol.
When can it not be used?
With a pacemaker, during pregnancy or with metal in the treatment area, among other cases. We always check this in the assessment.
