Lower back pain: understand it and move again
Most lower back pain improves with the right treatment. We explain what is happening, relieve the pain with manual therapy and teach you to move and get stronger so it does not come back.
Does this happen to you?
- Your lower back hurts when you get up in the morning
- Your back locked when you bent down
- The pain spreads into your buttock or leg
- Sitting for long periods is uncomfortable
- You have been told you have a herniated or bulging disc
- The pain comes back every few months

Frequently asked questions
Is a herniated disc serious?
In most cases, no. Many people without pain have herniations on their MRI. What matters is how you feel and how you respond to treatment.
Should I rest?
Bed rest is not recommended. Moving within tolerance helps you recover sooner.
When should I see a doctor?
If you have leg weakness, changes when passing urine, fever or pain after a hard fall or blow, see your doctor first.
