Hip pain: walk, run and sleep without it bothering you
Your hip supports every step, and when it hurts you notice it walking, climbing stairs or lying on your side. We find where the pain is really coming from, which is not always the joint itself, and treat it with manual therapy and an exercise programme built for you.
Does this happen to you?
- Pain on the side of the hip when you lie on that side
- Groin pain when walking, running or putting on shoes
- Buttock pain that sometimes spreads down the leg
- Stiffness when getting up from a chair or in the morning
- You have been told you have hip osteoarthritis
- Discomfort climbing stairs or hills

Frequently asked questions
Can hip pain come from the back?
Yes. Pain in the buttock or groin can come from the lower back. That is why we examine both areas before deciding on treatment.
What is piriformis syndrome?
It is irritation of the sciatic nerve as it passes the piriformis muscle in the buttock. Many people arrive saying they have piriformis syndrome when the pain actually comes from elsewhere, so we check it in the assessment.
Can I exercise with hip osteoarthritis?
Yes, and it is one of the things that helps most. We adapt the type of exercise and the load to your case to reduce pain and keep mobility.
Do you treat hips after surgery?
Yes. We provide rehabilitation after hip replacement and other surgery, in coordination with your surgeon.
